Meet the Pinterest bride. For her, planning a fairy-tale wedding means repinning the perfect dress, sharing a photo of her ideal centerpiece, and searching for inspiration for just-the-right cake on wedding idea boards.

With its heavily female demographic and emphasis on wedding ideas, Pinterest and brides go together like love and marriage. That is exactly why it’s so important for everyone in the wedding industry to start pinning.

The key to Pinterest is to make your boards aesthetically pleasing, because the allure of this social media site is the ability to visually map out the big day in a way that doesn’t require flipping pages of printouts or clicking through a list of bookmarked links.

A bride and groom will soon greet the brilliant morning sunrise for a ride in an eight-story tall, multi-colored hot air balloon.

The thrill of floating effortlessly over North Carolina dogwoods. A breathtaking view of beautiful blue water – lakes and ponds and rivers. The air filled with the fragrance of magnolia trees and honeysuckle.

Well, Amanda and Kevin not only imagined their perfect hot air balloon wedding… they planned it. Because of authority restrictions, the bride and groom couldn’t have an actual hot air balloon at their wedding venue. Fortunately, Wow Factor Cakes was there to save the day!

We were able to bake Amanda and Kevin the ideal cake for the occasion. The two couldn’t have been happier!

As  Beyonce’ says, “He Put A Ring On It”. Well,….….we want details!

My moment occurred almost 22 years ago, when my husband had snuck my ring into the frozen yogurt that I was eating. As the yogurt was melting in my mouth with the ring, I knew something was not right. Fortunately, I did not swallow the ring and end up at the emergency room . As soon as I saw it, I forgave him and said “Yes”. I told you my story, so let’s hear about yours.

Ever since Carleigh (my 18 year old daughter) was a little girl, we talked about going to New York for her 18th birthday.  18 years flew by and it just so happened that CJ, of J Majors Bridal (my friend & neighbor along with her daughter Erin) , presented a perfect opportunity to make our dream happen….Bridal Fashion Week!!

All of our goals were met:

-started out with attending couture bridal gown fashion show presented by Lazarro
-ate incredible food
-visited St. Patrick’s Cathedral

-shopped til I dropped
-ate more incredible food
-went by Rockefeller Center skating rink

-another bridal fashion show, presented by Claire Pettibone
-shopped some more
-got sandwiched by protestors and feared for our lives in Time Square

-went to Ground Zero
-shopped in China Town, Soho & Greenwich Village
-attended the Knot party

-stood right next to Martha Stewart at the Martha Stewart Party

-went to Ron Ben-Israel’s cake shop
-ate cupcakes

-bought lots of cake supplies at New York Cake & Bake

-ate pizza
-went to the top of the Empire State Building

-went to the m & m store

-got my toenail torn off by a “friendly” samaritan 

Needless to say, it was a whirlwind 4 days and I was exhausted.  I was so glad to get back home & get to work.  However, if I had the chance to do it all over again….I would in a New York minute!

My husband suggested that I show this cake off as another example of a “Dude” Cake. This was one of my husband’s recent favorite cakes, ignoring the Raven’s logo of course.This was a cake designed by a mother who knew her son’s passion:  the Raven’s and she offered this as the dessert for the evening of the rehearsal. The only downside to this cake was everyone was trying to grab a budlight during the evening only to realize that this was not a bottle of  Bud but an edible taste of sugar.

Some of these Wowee pops maybe scarey, creepy, or just downright weird, but you know that they are so so yummy! Yes, even an eyeball Wowee is so delicious.
