sugar flowersI love sugar flowers. When done right, sugar flowers are gorgeous artwork that were meant to adorn a beautiful wedding cake. Sugar Flowers are made from a sugar dough know as gumpaste and are an edible confection. Each one is hand sculpted and painted like miniature fine art pieces. These sugar flowers can be a gorgeous keepsake after the wedding.

I could simply purchase these sugar flowers, but these flowers often don’t capture the true look of real flowers, their leaves, stems and the texture. I have worked long and hard on this skill to bring this simple sugar dough to life. Making these flowers is very tedious and requires tremendous patience but it brings me joy and in some ways…therapy. My favorite ones to make are Calilillys. They are a littly tricky but well worth it. Callillys make a cake Gorgeous!
